I love PlayStation 2 classics as much as anyone else, but this is a prime time for the former Xbox players who have bought PS4 consoles over the past few years to learn about a key franchise in Naughty Dog history in its optimal format.

While Naughty Dog is insanely busy right now as they finish off the Uncharted series with The Lost Legacy, in addition to working on The Last Of Us Part 2, it is a shame that we aren’t getting an updated version of these Jak and Daxter games for the modern era. The list includes the original Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak 2, Jak 3, and Jak X: Combat Racing. That final title has never been re-released anywhere else since its 2005 release on the PlayStation 2, while the first three were part of the HD collection on the PlayStation 3.
Part of the glacial-paced PS2 on PS4 program, the titles that will be available are Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, Jak 3 and Jak X: Combat Racing. It was revealed on the PlayStation Blog, where it was confirmed that these games will be available as digital downloads. In a move that will surely have people wondering if Naughty Dog is working on another new game in the series, Sony has announced that the PS2 Jak and Daxter games will be making their way to the PS4 later this year. The Jak and Daxter franchise replaced Naughty Dog’s highly successful Crash Bandicoot series as it transitioned from the PS1 to the PS2. Although originally and primarily developed for the PlayStation 2, other games have been developed for the PlayStation Portable by other developers. In 2003 with the release of Jak II for the PlayStation 2, Jak was given the ability to speak for the first time, which made players of the game see his perspective and from this game onward, the franchise have reached great success with the release of Jak 3 and Jak X.
Thats Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3. As someone who have enjoyed these classic games on my PS2 back in the early 2000s, I remember the countless hours going on an adventure with the dynamic duo. For anyone not in the know, this title is a remastered collection of the first three Jak and Daxter games.
